Message: Just thought you'd like to know that dominickmazzotta, xerox and myself have left the team woodpushers for the reasons you have stated in other threads (unfair team match-ups) as well as other reasons. We don't want to be labelled cheaters! And I would like to say sorry to the people who were victims of this, but I myself was given low rated players in team games and myself, dominickmazzotta and Xerox all complained about this and have now left.

Message: Thank you kal-el, dominickmazzotta and xerox for leaving wood pushers. I think the only way that we can stop the outrages cheating of this team is for all players to leave that team and captains to boycatt the unfair matches of wood pushers.
Cheers
Nima ——— Onetime Chess Prodigy Shows Renewed Signs of Promise — Tennis players fantasize about drubbing the top-ranked Rafael Nadal. Luke McShane, an English grandmaster, got to live out the chess version of such a dream last week at the London Chess Classic, where he soundly defeated Magnus Carlsen, the world’s No.1 chess player, in the first round. McShane, 26, is on the outskirts of the game’s elite, ranked No. 100 in the world. But when he was a boy, he was anointed as England’s next great chess prodigy. He won the under-10 world championship when he was 8 and became a grandmaster by 16 — the youngest, at the time, to ever do so in his homeland. He has not achieved what has been expected of him. Maybe he was not as talented as ...

The team of "the best captain on GameKnot" has disappeared from the face of the Earth, as if it never existed. In the complete list of teams gameknot.com/list_teams.pl?mode=0&pg=6
there is no team number 520. I couldn't find anything about the team anywhere. Obviously there is still some justice left in this rotten world.

——— Interview with Magnus Carlsen — The world's best chess player on modelling for G-Star Raw, psychological ploys, and why he's not big on Christmas. Q: Hello Magnus ... MC: Hello Small Talk. Q: How does it feel to be back for the London Chess Classic? MC: It feels good. Last year's tournament was really enjoyable and very successful for me too. Q: The Russian world champion Mikhail Botvinnik used to get training partners to deliberately blow smoke in his face to prepare for opponents who may try to unsettle him. Is there anything you do to prepare for psychological tricks or gamesmanship? MC: Thankfully, one cannot smoke at the board now so I don't have to worry about that. I try to focus on the game rather than ...

Message: Davism has been banned so the team no longer exist, time for me to look a new team. but you all say you got low rated players, in the beginning i got them too and it sux but the last games i got are in about my range of playing.
but still I hate looking for a new team but my rating might work in my advantage on that one :D lets hope so but i can understand that you guys left the team. although i didn't notice since i had internet problems and couldn't get online for a few days.
to the rest of the disbanned woodpusher: good luck and have fun becouse that is what it's all about ——— McShane Retains Lead at London Classic; Anand Beats Carlsen — Luke McShane, who won his first two games, did not win in Round 3 of the London Chess Classic on Friday. But he managed to draw against Vladimir Kramnik of Russia, the former world chess champion, and thus remained in the lead. After three of the four games in each of the first two rounds ended decisively, Friday was relatively quiet, with three games ending in draws. The exception was a win by Viswanathan Anand of India, the world chess champion, over Magnus Carlsen of Norway. It was the second loss for Carlsen, who actually had an advantage early in the game before making two bad moves that allowed Anand to shatter his kingside pawns and then infiltrate with his queen and rook. Carlsen could ...

Message: Private message from gameknot_com:
Hello, team "Woodpushers"!
I regret to inform you that your team has been disbanded due to the fact that your team captain, davism, is banned from GameKnot. I'm sorry it had to come to this, but I have no other choice. Davism received more official warnings from me that any other player on the site, but he still continued to violate GameKnot rules one after another. In the last 2 years, I have received more complaints about davism's behavior than any other player on the site. He had his forum posting privileges revoked 3 times (for insults, use of profanity, etc.), so he was permanently banned from posting in the forums. He tried creating several alternative accounts in order to get around the ban. He also sent over a hundred of private messages asking other GameKnot players, he haven't even spoken to before, to pay for a premium membership of one of his teammates. After that, he sent numerous messages advertising his team to many players on the site, including top players from other teams. After receiving several complaints from other players and their team captains, I was forced to revoke davism's private messaging privileges in order prevent his attempts at poaching other teams' members. After that he started sending his messages using one of his teammate's account (which is also against the rules). By the time I started getting complaints again, he managed to send over a thousand messages to other players. Think about it, 1,000+ messages! And finally, it has been recently brought to my attention that davism was secretly negotiating to play for another team under an alternative account he created for himself. After which I had no choice but terminate davism's account and ban him from GameKnot. I'm sorry if it causes any inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
Best regards,
Mike, webmaster of GameKnot.com ——— Surprising Leader at London Chess Classic — The torrid pace continued at the London Chess Classic on Thursday as three of the four games again ended decisively. Luke McShane of England, who had pulled off a big upset by beating Magnus Carlsen of Norway in Round 1, won again in Round 2, beating Nigel Short, another Englishman. It was Short’s second loss. Carlsen bounced back by upending Michael Adams, one of the four English chess players. Hikaru Nakamura of the United States, who had managed to draw a long game against the world chess champion Viswanathan Anand of India in Round 1, had Black for the second game in a row. It was also his 23rd birthday. His opponent, Vladimir Kramnik of Russia, the former world chess champion, ended up ...

Message: my team is always open for anyone who wants to join it ——— Exciting and Surprising Start to the London Chess Classic — If every round of the London Chess Classic is like the first round, then it is going to be a very exciting tournament. The chess tournament began Wednesday and three of the four games ended decisively. The most stunning result was the victory of the English grandmaster Luke McShane over Magnus Carlsen of Norway. Carlsen played some speculative moves and was punished brilliantly by McShane. The other two wins were also quite exciting. Michael Adams, one of the four English chess players, checkmated his countryman David Howell in 27 moves with a scintillating attack, while Vladimir Kramnik of Russia overwhelmed Nigel Short, the other English player, with a central pawn break that eventually led to ...

Message: I too was taken in by Davism. I was offered a position in his team but declined due to my place at Chess World of Peace. I felt he was young and somewhat naive and warned him not to break any rules, after he informed he had been banned from messaging. I had no idea to the extent of this deception and his activities. Thank you Mike for looking after this site ethically and keeping it free from deceit, this kind of behaviour must never be tolerated and those wishing to participate in unlawful acts will now know the ramifications. It seems Mike you have been very tolerant and gave many warnings. I have no time for any-one who deliberately takes advantage of that good will and continues on planning further deception. I know of one fine player at the old disbanded Wood pushers, and he is Kal-el. Kal-el plays a thorough gentlemans game and I wish him luck in a new team.
