I have just started a new team called "Chessaholics"
The purpose of the team is to support friendly ties between its member players
and to instill in them a passion to learn chess. We have our own private forums
where we discuss and analyse finished games.By communicating with each other
not only we will get acquainted socially and chessically, but we will probably build a
more cohesive team.Stronger players can help weaker ones and we could get to know
each other better! We also plan to organise mini-tournaments once we have sufficient
number of members.
If you want to have fun and learn chess simultaneously"Chessaholics"is the team
for you.It doesnt matter if you play less team games as long as you are an active
member on Gameknot and our forums. We welcome players from all countries of the world.
The team supports sportsmanship, honour and fair play!
I will also try to arrange team games with players with equal Elo rating.
We also encourage friendly relations other teams.

Currently we need players with 1600+ rating. If interested, please contact me through
a private message.

Chess news:

Anand, Kramnik draw in 4th game of chess match -- Defending chess champion Viswanathan Anand of India played to a 29-move draw with Russian challenger Vladimir Kramnik on Saturday in the fourth game of their world chess championship match. Anand leads the 12-game match 2.5-1.5. He won the third game in spectacular style on Friday after the two men drew their opening games. Saturday's draw was a tame affair in comparison with the previous day's game. Anand had the white pieces and the opening was the solid Queen's Gambit Declined. As often happens in this chess opening, Black wound up with an isolated d-pawn and White had only the slightest chance of an advantage. Kramnik summed the opening up after ...

Kramnik stays positive -- This is just the kind of situation the chess followers from around the world, sans Russia, have been waiting for. Trailing by a point after four games, Vladimir Kramnik finds himself out of his comfort zone on the second rest day of the on-going World chess championship match against Viswanathan Anand. Undefeated in three World title matches since 2000, Kramnik has never conceded the lead so early. The Russian bounced back against Peter Leko (in 2004) and Veselin Topalov (2006) to keep the chess crown he won from Garry Kasparov (2000). At the highest level, a chess player losing with white pieces is a rarity. Kramnik’s last defeat with white pieces in a classical time format came ...

Anand wins to take 2-point lead over Kramnik -- World chess champion Viswanathan Anand took a commanding two-point lead over challenger Vladimir Kramnik on Monday when the Russian handed him a victory by making a horrible blunder under time pressure. The win gave Anand, of India, a 3.5-1.5 lead after five games in their 12-game chess match. It was Anand's second victory with the black pieces; the other three games have been drawn. Kramnik called his situation "difficult but not completely hopeless." Anand repeated the same line of the Meran Variation that brought him spectacular success in game three but varied from that game on move 15, thus sidestepping anything that Kramnik and his team might ...
