By the way, it took me a couple of days to realize why there had been no reply to my last post, and I notice you are the only one who has posted on the new page until now. Is there any built-in way for captains to inform their whole teams of important news? If not, and if it sounds like a good idea to you, maybe you can contact Mike the Gameknot webmaster to have him add something which would send messages to all the members of a team (for captains only, probably.)

Now the developer of Rybka, the winner of the last four World Computer Chess Championships, has been accused of plagiarizing code to create the program. I would also like to make a few announcements. Sportsgirl is being given the title of Head Counselor of the Jedi. Counselor sportsgirl will be in charge of assisting new recruits and other questions.
Some players already have positions built in their name like Master Yoda and Princess Leah or jedi Queen of Chess.
All Jedi are now called Team Leaders! Hopefully each leader can recruit new players. New player requirements are not based on rating but only on good effort and belief in a higher cause.
We would have had at least 60 players by now but GK only allows 30 non-members per team so many could not get on at different times. The game Knot computer allows unlimited players who are Gameknot members so try and recruit gameknot members.

Hi team. Listen to the captain! The more in number we are, the stonger our Force will be. So try to contact at least one Gameknot paid member who hasn't yet joined a team to see if they will join ours. Go through the list of your past games and see if you've played against any who qualify, that kind of connection might help. Likewise if you are playing against any now, throw them an invitation.
The braver solution is something I will be doing shortly that I should have done a long time ago, which is become a member myself! (I have to wait for my Paypal account to be activated.) I see that we have only 5 paid members on our team so far. Well, some of us spend so much time on this site, taking advantage that it is provided free of charge, that it's time we backed up our commitment to the site with a financial contribution. This will in turn make room for new non-paid members, which our captain may have to choose carefully, perhaps even actively seeking some highly-rated talent (feel free to recommend). So let's all think about it and try to give him that opportunity.

Sure. You need to click teams and find jedi which is number 10. Click jedi and then scroll to bottom of the page and click apply. There might be a spot left.
Mike the head of Gameknot has a 30 player limit so the computer may stop new players from registering after 30. I would like to see the gameknot player limit raised.

Well a couple of players had some timeouts and then quit which has a bad effect and brings down the rating. I c the pawn by Jedi's name which is what members have which is cool!
When the income tax checks come back for the lucky ones is a possible time to join Gameknot especially if you like playing a lot of games.
